NatureTrack wins “Sponsor’s Award” at FastPitch SB 2015!

Social Venture Partners awarded Nature Track the Sponsor’s Award as well as a finalist prize for a total of $6K of the total $45k in prizes at Fast Pitch Santa Barbara 2015 event October 15th!

The SVP Fast Pitch SB 2015 offered ten finalists the opportunity to work with marketing coaches on a well-crafted pitch for their organization. The Fast Pitch SB event at Deckers’ Routunda in October show-cased the amazing finalists for a live audience. Six judges and the audience selected winners following ten amazing pitches of the needs for each non-profit. It was an education in social needs of Santa Barbara County!

Sue Eisaguirre’s pitch for nature field trips landed on receptive ears for the Nature Track Foundation! In addition to the prize money, she has been invited to make her pitch to funding sources based on the exposure afforded by SVP Fast Pitch SB! The value of the coaching, the camaraderie for NT docents, and the showcase experience along with the cash awards made this a winner for Nature Track to go forward to carry on the mission.

Watts Jr. High Students Trek with NatureTrack!

On February 5, 65 7th and 8th grade St. Lawrence of Brindisi School students from the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles traveled to the Goleta Butterfly Grove for an unforgettable day and experience.

Students took part in a docent-led NatureTrack “adventure” where they spent the entire day outdoors learning about Monarch butterflies – seeing clusters of butterflies in the trees, butterflies on the ground “puddling,” and at times actually having a butterfly land on them!  Students had time to explore the beach, create “sand globes,” learn about the local geology, and take in the natural beauty of the surrounding area.

For many of these students, it was their first time out of the city and experiencing the wonderment of nature up close.  Students also created butterflies by printing with kelp, all the while learning the parts of the kelp and the importance of healthy kelp forests.   We are all fortunate to have shared this incredible experience together.  We hope you come back next year St. Lawrence!

VOTE for NatureTrack

VOTE for NatureTrack!

Thanks for voting for NatureTrack in the 2013 Intuit “Small Business, Big Game” contest…we did not make it to the next round, but had a terrific response and appreciate all who voted for us!

Kids puzzling the mysteries of nature; that’s our story and we make it happen 2000 times a year. We transport students from classrooms, successfully engage their enthusiasm outside to focus on wild things like bird songs, animal tracks, and bones. We load their brains with nature, and relate field science to school standards. They return to their teacher more curious and better grounded to ask the intelligent questions and make better decisions tomorrow about our planet. FREE NatureTrack field trips fill the school budget gap with ingenuity and wonder! We even cover the transportation costs.

Thank you for your vote!
