NatureTrack Film Festival Continues Free Monthly Screening Series with “Currents of Change: The Stories Water Tells”
Three acclaimed environmental films explore water, wildlife, and California’s future
LOS OLIVOS, Calif. – The NatureTrack Film Festival in partnership with the Santa Ynez Valley Grange, and the Women Winemakers & Culinarians Foundation, invites the community to the eighth program in its popular free monthly Special Screening Series, “Currents of Change: The Stories Water Tells,” on Friday, August 21, doors open at 6, films start at 6:30p.m. at the Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall, 2374 Alamo Pintado Avenue in Los Olivos.
Presented by the NatureTrack Foundation and the Santa Ynez Valley Grange, this inspiring evening features three powerful films that examine the vital role water plays in shaping our landscapes, wildlife, and future.
The evening’s films include:
Something in the Water (24 minutes)
An extraordinary scientific expedition across Greenland’s melting ice sheet explores mysterious supraglacial lakes that may hold important clues to our changing climate. Blending adventure with groundbreaking research, the film offers a compelling look at one of Earth’s most fragile environments.
Balancing the Scales (28 minutes)
Discover how beaver reintroductions are helping restore freshwater ecosystems while addressing declining fish populations. Through remarkable cinematography and expert insight, this film reveals the intricate balance of nature and the surprising role beavers play in ecosystem recovery.
California’s Watershed Healing (56 minutes)
This timely documentary examines the urgent work underway to restore California’s forests and watersheds, helping build healthier, more resilient landscapes in the face of climate change. The film highlights practical solutions that can reduce wildfire risk, protect water resources, and safeguard California’s natural heritage for generations to come.
Together, the three films offer an engaging and hopeful look at the challenges and solutions surrounding one of our planet’s most precious resources.

Admission is free, although seating is limited. Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
Attendees will also enjoy complimentary wines provided by Solminer Wine Company and craft beer generously provided by M. Special Brewing Company, creating a welcoming community atmosphere before and after the screenings.
The NatureTrack Film Festival Special Screening Series is held on the third Friday of each month at the Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall and features award-winning environmental documentaries from around the world.
