Through our Seniors’ Trax Program, NatureTrack partners with assisted living and senior communities to provide no-cost, guided outdoor experiences, including ADA van transportation, bringing the joy, beauty, and benefits of nature to those who need it most.
NatureTrack’s Seniors’ Trax Program ensures that older adults—regardless of mobility—can experience the restorative power of nature. We partner with assisted living, memory care, and senior communities to provide no-cost, guided Freedom Trax outings to local beaches, trails, and parks, each thoughtfully tailored to participant needs.
To remove barriers even further, we can provide group transportation through our ADA-accessible van, making it easier for residents to participate in these meaningful outdoor experiences.
We also offer customized outings for individuals and small groups, creating opportunities for connection, fresh air, and joy in the natural world.

Enabling Wheelchair Users and Others with Physical Disabilities to Experience Nature
“After creating a short video about NatureTrack’s Trax program, Sue Eisaguirre realized there was a larger story to tell about the right to access nature. In collaboration with Golden Cage Films, she produced The Accessible Outdoors, a short documentary featuring powerful interviews with leading disability rights advocates—including Judith Heumann, Jesse Billauer (founder of Life Rolls On), and others. The film explores the vital importance of nature in everyone’s life and underscores the need for equal access to outdoor spaces. The Accessible Outdoors went on to receive multiple awards as it traveled the film festival circuit, elevating the conversation around inclusion, mobility, and the freedom to experience the natural world.”
Freedom Trax, a manual wheelchair, can be quickly transformed into a battery-powered, all-terrain vehicle that easily traverses beaches and trails. NatureTrack helps wheelchair users or those with a physical disability access and explore beaches and trails from San Luis Obispo to Ventura. Wheelchair users can independently enjoy nature alongside family and friends.

The FreedomTrax is a manual wheelchair accessory designed to enhance outdoor accessibility. It is a battery-operated device controlled by a joystick, enabling manual wheelchairs to navigate sand, hiking trails, and snow.
Depending on the terrain, the battery lasts up to 5 hours.
There are multiple ways to access the FreedomTrax, all free of charge:
